‘10’ mural for Lamine Yamal in Rocafonda

A very special mural has appeared in Rocafonda in form of graffiti art with the number ‘10’ for Lamine Yamal. The local 304 postcode has again made waves further afield thanks to the new FC Barcelona number 10. It’s a gesture that deserves recognition and praise. This is why FC Barcelona have dedicated a mural to him in the Mataró neighbourhood where he grew up.

Where it all began

Rocafonda has become the centre of attention once again thanks to Lamine Yamal. This time it’s for an art-piece; with one of the walls showing the young La Masia graduate and his new jersey number. It’s specifically at the park where he used to play football as a boy. It’s not just any mural, it’s a tribute to a boy whose dreams began in that park and who now wears a jersey steeped in history.

The inside of the number 10 features some of his most memorable moments while wearing blaugrana. The graffiti has been carefully curated to show his journey from La Masia through to becoming the number 10 for the first team.

Lamine Yamal has put Rocafonda on the map and the Club wanted to connect with his roots and pay tribute to the place it all began. A neighbourhood with its most notable contemporary figure in form of a large mural depicting the FC Barcelona star, who turned just 18 years old on 13 July. A young age that still doesn’t stop him from becoming a prophet in his own land, and it is now there for all to see in the form of a stunning mural. A piece of art that exudes quality, or as the contemporaries of Lamine Yamal would say, aura.

Art calls for art, because Lamine Yamal is a wizard with the ball at his feet on the pitch. His creativity has now been transferred into another art form, a mural featuring his portrait. He still has many more pictures to paint while wearing the FC Barcelona jersey too.
