Just a few months later, the dashing Count whisked Benedikte away to his childhood home of Schackenborg Castle, a 17th century Baroque pile in Southern Jutland. He documented the getaway on social media, with photographs of himself playing pool in the antique library and a few glimpses of the glorious landscape. The couple even spent Christmas together, with Count Nikolai posting a sweet sunset snap of the two of them posing on the beach, Benedikte wearing a low-cut, magenta satin dress. Benedikte, a successful model, has also been known to post pictures of her handsome beau on her own Instagram, as they hop from holidays in Sardinia and Paris, to luxe events in Stockholm and Melbourne.
Until May this year, Benedikte was busy running the company she co-founded, BénéSoie, which makes hand-sewn silk hairbands and pinstripe bags, designed with intricate materials, patterns and details. However, after four years as director, she announced that she would be stepping back from the company, transferring both ownership and the directorship to her father, businessman Anders Thoustrup, with whom she founded BénéSoie in 2021. Instead, it was said that Benedikte planned to soon begin a full-time job at a larger international company, presumably building on the skills she developed at business school, during which time she spent two semesters abroad in Paris and Sydney.
