RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has sent a stern message to the party leadership, calling for an immediate end to internal differences and a renewed focus on the political movement.
Speaking to media persons outside Adiala Jail on Tuesday after meeting her brother, Aleema Khan, accompanied by her sisters, revealed two key messages from the former prime minister.
According to Aleema Khan, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder asserted that internal rifts within the party, particularly concerning the recent Lahore meeting, were being “deliberately created”.
He emphatically urged an end to personal disputes, stressing the paramount importance of unifying efforts for the ongoing movement.
Expressing satisfaction over the gathering of 300 parliamentarians in Lahore, Khan issued a strong warning:
“Anyone causing rifts within the party would be dealt with personally by me. We are sitting in jails, and you are creating divisions.”
Aleema Khan also disclosed deeply concerning allegations from Imran Khan regarding his and Bushra Bibi’s treatment in jail.
“My access to TV and newspapers has been cut off and human rights are being violated,” she quoted Khan as saying.
Furthermore, Aleema Khan conveyed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder’s directive to parliamentarians to unequivocally decide their political future and the basis for any potential negotiations. “Just listen to the founder’s cases, and the matter will be resolved,” she added.
Highlighting the family’s unwavering support, Aleema Khan stated that they have been consistently visiting the jail for the past two years and stand firmly with the party’s decisions.
She emphasised the family’s desire for the founder’s messages to be implemented, believing that “the time has come to pave the way for his release”.
She further demanded an immediate end to what she described as the “inhuman treatment” of the PTI founder by the jail superintendent.
Earlier, speaking to the media representatives near the Gorakhpur police checkpoint, Aleema Khan hailed the unity displayed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf parliamentarians in Lahore as a positive sign.
She expressed optimism, stating that the Lahore meeting offered encouragement for Punjab, a province that has endured “significant injustices” over the past two years.
Aleema Khan lauded the Lahore gathering, reiterating: “We had suggested that all MNAs and MPAs show unity in Punjab”.
She confirmed that the event was widely appreciated.
When questioned about the alleged non-invitation of the Punjab leadership, she stated they were unaware, explaining, “We were informed that it was a parliamentarians’ meeting. God willing, everything will be fine.”
