If you’re heading to Edinburgh International Book Festival between 9-24 August this year, then don’t miss this lunchtime event with Discoveries writers Lorna Elcock, Rukky Brume and Rue Baldry on Friday 22nd August at 12.15-13.15.
In partnership with Scottish Book Trust, hear readings from Lorna, Rukky, and Rue as well as Scottish Book Trust Writers Awardees Taylor Dyson and Nasim Rebecca Asl.

Rukky Brume was longlisted for the Women’s Prize Discoveries programme in 2021.
Rue Baldry was longlisted for The Women’s Prize Discoveries programme in 2021. Her debut novel, Dwell with be published with Northodox Press in February 2026.
Lorna Elcock was shortlisted for the Women’s Prize Discoveries programme in 2021. Her debut novel, The Windhover will be published by Dead Ink Books in July 2026.
Discoveries is the Women’s Prize writer development programme run in partnership with Audible, Curtis Brown Literary Agency and Curtis Brown Creative, supporting unpublished and unagented women writers in the UK or Ireland in writing their first novel. Learn more about Discoveries here
