Top five fugitives extradited from UAE to Pakistan in major international crackdown

In a significant breakthrough, five of Pakistan’s most-wanted fugitives have been arrested in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and extradited to Pakistan, according to an official statement.

The Crime Control Department (CCD) confirmed that the arrests were carried out through a coordinated operation led by the Special Operations Cell. The suspects had fled the country to escape prosecution and were wanted in high-profile cases of murder and financial fraud.

Among those captured is Muhammad Jameel, sought by Sialkot police in a murder investigation, and Gulbaz Khan, who was on Narowal police’s wanted list for a similar charge. Muhammad Ilyas, wanted by Faisalabad police for murder, was also apprehended.

Additionally, two individuals accused of financial crimes were arrested: Naveed Dar, wanted by Lahore police, and Shehzam Khurshid, pursued by Faisalabad authorities.

A CCD spokesperson stated that these arrests are part of an ongoing global effort to pursue criminals who attempt to escape justice by seeking refuge abroad. The five suspects are expected to arrive in Lahore later today.

“There will be zero tolerance for those who commit crimes in Pakistan and try to hide overseas. They will be captured and held accountable,” the spokesperson said, stressing, “No one is above the law — fugitives abroad will face firm legal consequences.”
