FBR income tax return 2025: Required documents for salaried, businessmen revealed

ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has set the deadline for taxpayers across Pakistan to submit their income tax returns for fiscal year 2024-25.

It has urged the taxpayers to submit their returns by September 30, 2025 in order to avoid penalties and legal consequences.

Under section 114 and 116 of Income Tax Ordinance 2001, taxpayers need various documents while submitting their tax returns.

Required Documents for Tax Returns

Individuals are required to compile and submit comprehensive documentation along with the tax returns. Following are the required documents.

All bank statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025,

Business and Person Expenses details

Photocopy of utility bills of FY2024-25

Bank loan or vehicle lease details, if any

Details of insurance policy installments, if any

Total income and expenses in FY2025

Sales tax details of sales taxpayers

Details of remittances received from abroad

Details of withholding tax deduction

Details of bank profit or any saving scheme

Details of phone number and house address in case you have changed them

Asset details

The requirement extends to both salaried individuals and business owners.
