Olivia Smith becomes first £1m transfer in women’s football with historic move to Arsenal

Smith, who became Canada’s youngest-ever senior international at just 15, is expected to play a pivotal role in Arsenal’s title defence. Arsenal head coach Renée Slegers praised her “mentality and ambition,” while director Clare Wheatley called her “one of the most talented young players in the game.”

Smith headlines a summer of strong recruitment for Arsenal, who have also added Chloe Kelly, Taylor Hinds, and goalkeeper Anneke Borbe on free transfers to strengthen an already formidable squad.
