ISLAMABAD – The spillways of Rawal Dam will be opened at 6:00 AM on Sunday (July 20) after the reservoir’s water level surged to 1,748 feet following continuous rainfall in the federal capital. According to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, the residents of low-lying areas, particularly those living along Korang Nullah, have been advised to take precautionary measures and avoid unnecessary movement near streams and water channels. The statement said that the step was taken to regulate the dam’s water level and manage the increased inflow from the catchment areas.
