CzechGP Closes First Half of the Season for I…

It was a challenging race for both riders. Kunii struggled to find his rhythm early on but gradually improved his pace in the second half of the race. He was making solid progress through the pack when, on the final lap, a collision with Ayumu Sasaki affected his momentum. Kunii ultimately crossed the line in 23rd position.

Meanwhile, Taiga Hada spent most of the race locked in a battle with another rider, which compromised his ability to maintain a consistent rhythm and close the gap to the group ahead. He finished the CzechGP in 24th place.

While not the result the team had hoped for, both riders gathered valuable data and experience heading into the second half of the season. Mario Aji continues his recovery and is getting closer to returning to competition, while Kunii prepares to face the demanding Suzuka 8 Hours. The team will remain in Brno for a private test before heading to Austria for Round 13 at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg.

We just completed Moto2’s race today, but unfortunately it wasn’t the ending we were aiming for. Yuki Kunii started from P27 and struggled during the first part of the race with a full fuel tank — the feeling on the bike wasn’t optimal. However, from mid-race onwards, he was able to improve his pace and catch up to the group in front. Unfortunately, in the final stages, a collision with Sasaki cost him further positions, and he finished in P23.
Taiga Hada had the potential to ride with a better pace, but he was disrupted by another rider on nearly every lap, which made it hard to settle into a rhythm. He crossed the line in P24. We’ll now stay in Brno for a private test where we hope to take a positive step forward ahead of the second half of the season.

We’ve just finished Sunday’s race here in Brno. Honestly, I was a bit concerned yesterday because I didn’t have the best feeling on the bike. But the team made some good changes, and at the race start, the feeling improved.
Mid-race I found better rhythm and started to close the gap to the group ahead. Unfortunately, I made contact with Ayumu on the final lap, which caused him to crash. I feel deeply sorry for him and his team, and I sincerely apologize.
Racing incidents are never easy, but my pace is improving step by step, and I want to continue building on this. We still have a lot of work ahead.

We’ve just wrapped up my second race with the team here in Brno. I’m disappointed with how it turned out. I believed I could follow the group, but one rider consistently disrupted my rhythm almost every lap.
That made it really tough to find my pace or close the gap ahead. I ended up in 24th, which is not where I want to be. I’m very grateful to the team — they welcomed me warmly and helped me a lot from the very beginning. I really appreciated the opportunity to ride these two races for IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia. I’m just sorry I couldn’t deliver a better result.
