LAHORE (Dunya News) – The by-election for a vacant Senate seat from Punjab will be held today (Monday). The seat fell vacant following the demise of Senator Sajid Mir.
Four candidates are in the run for the election including Abdul Karim of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Meher Abdul Sattar of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), and two independent candidates Ejaz Hussain Minhas and Khadija Siddiqui.
According to the Provincial Election Commission, the polling will take place at the Punjab Assembly Hall, which has been officially designated as the polling station for the election.
The Provincial Election Commissioner Punjab will serve as the returning officer for the election. Members of the Punjab Assembly will cast their votes to elect the new Senator.
All MPAs have been directed to bring their official assembly identification cards to participate in the voting process. Polling will be conducted from 9:00am to 4:00pm without any interruption.
