Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu will look to revive her season as she headlines India’s challenge at the China Open 2025 badminton tournament, which starts on Tuesday.

Badminton matches from the China Open, a BWF Super 1000 tournament, will be available to watch on live streaming in India.

Former world champion PV Sindhu, who exited in the opening round of the Japan Open last week, has endured a difficult 2025 BWF World Tour so far, with her best finish this year being a quarter-final appearance at the India Open in January.

Her Indian Open run was followed by four first-round exits and two round-of-16 finishes on the BWF Tour.

World No. 16 PV Sindhu, who won the China Open in 2016, will face junior world champion Tomoka Miyazaki, sixth in the women’s singles badminton rankings, in the first round.

In the only previous match between the two players, Japan’s Tomoka Miyazaki beat PV Sindhu at the Swiss Open last year.

Anupama Upadhyaya and Unnati Hooda are the other two Indian badminton players in the women’s singles draw at the China Open.

Paris 2024 semi-finalists Lakshya Sen, 18th in the badminton rankings, and world No. 35 HS Prannoy are India’s two entries in the men’s singles draw.

Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty are India’s only representatives in the men’s doubles draw.

The Satwik-Chirag duo has endured three semi-final exits this year at the Indian, Singapore and Malaysian Opens.

India’s Amrutha Pramuthesh-Sonali Singh, Kavipriya Selvam-Simran Singhi and Rutaparna Panda-Swetaparna Panda will all feature in the women’s doubles section.

Meanwhile, the mixed doubles section has two Indian pairs in Rohan Kapoor-Ruthvika Gadde and Ashith Surya-Amrutha Pramuthesh.
