Equestrian Anush Agarwalla won the dressage event at the Jubilaumsturnier Hofgeismar Open 2025 in Germany on Sunday.
Anush Agarwalla, who represented India in the Paris 2024 Olympics last year, recorded 69.891 per cent points to top the six-member field, where all the other competitors were from Germany.
Pia Piotrowski and Katharina Hemmer finished second and third, respectively.
In dressage competitions, the horse and rider perform a series of predetermined movements in an arena bordered by a low rail. The horse must stay within the area while performing.
Anush’s win was particularly special as it came with Floriana, a seven-year-old mare he was riding in competition for only the second time. It was the pair’s first victory at the S level, one tier below the Grand Prix.
“I’m incredibly proud of Floriana. This was only her second S competition and she handled it with maturity beyond her years,” Anush said.
“Winning here is a special moment for both of us. I want to sincerely thank Anna Scholermann for her constant guidance, training and belief in us. This is just the beginning for Floriana and I am excited about what the future holds,” he added.
He also took to social media and shared his gratitude for his horse in a post. “ Only 7 years old and what a potential for the future,” Anush posted on Instagram.
