The loft-like home checks all the boxes

Former co-stars turned romantic partners Téa Leoni and Tim Daly have tied the knot in an intimate New York ceremony more than 10 years after they first began dating.

Leoni, 59, and Daly, 69, met each other while starring as husband and wife in the hit political drama “Madam Secretary,” which premiered in 2014, the same year that rumors about a potential romance between the duo began to circulate.

However, they did not make their public debut as a couple until early 2015, when they attended the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner together in Washington, D.C., having kept their burgeoning relationship so closely guarded that even their “Madam Secretary” co-stars were unaware that anything was going on between them.

“I heard a rumor about it, and everyone was like, ‘No, no way!’ And I’m like, ‘Maybe,’” actor Geoffrey Arend told People of the relationship soon after they appeared together at the prestigious political event.

Now, more than a decade after their first official appearance as a couple, the duo have wed, with People reporting that the former co-stars said their “I do’s” on July 12 at an intimate ceremony in their home state of New York, with just close family members in attendance.

Both of the on-screen stars have been married before. Leoni was previously wed to fellow actor David Duchovny, with whom she shares two children, for 17 years, before they divorced in August 2014, while Daly was married to actress Amy Van Nostrand from 1982 to 2010.

Leoni’s spokesperson did confirm the nuptials to People, and neither she nor Daly have publicly commented on their marital status, but an image posted on Instagram by one of the couple’s guests shows the actress posing proudly with her daughter, West Duchovny, while holding a bouquet of white flowers.

The “Madam Secretary” star appears to have eschewed the traditional white bridal gown in favor of a more modern look that featured a metallic bronze blouse paired with a long white silk skirt.

Just a few days before the happy couple tied the knot, Daly made one key preparation: listing the New York City bachelor pad that he purchased for $1.55 million in 2015, when he and Leoni began dating.

The property, located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, was put on the market for $1.6 million on June 17, less than one month before his wedding.

In a 2016 interview with The New York Times, Daly explained that he made the decision to purchase the dwelling after initially renting a home during the first season of “Madam Secretary,” which was shot on location in the city.

He explained at the time that his decision to purchase a property was made largely out of a desire to feel truly settled in the city, with Daly acknowledging “I’m one of those people, unfortunately, who has this mental deficiency: When I rent, I can’t go all in. I can’t really get settled unless I own something.”

The actor added that the choice of apartment was made much easier by its proximity to Leoni’s own house, although he hesitated to name her in the interview.

“Really, it was to be near people I liked that I wanted to stay in the neighborhood. It was very convenient to my happiness,” he said of his purchase.

“My daughter was living up here, and my girlfriend lives up here.”

In the 10 years since, Daly has held on to the property, even as his relationship with Leoni has evolved-however, his impending nuptials seemed to serve as the final push he needed to part ways with the home.

“This rare, loft-like home checks every box: sunshine, scale, style, and space to grow,” the listing notes, adding that the property is “currently configured as a gracious two-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom residence,” but boasts enough space to allow for it to be transformed into a three-bedroom abode.

“The sun-flooded living and dining area is a true showstopper: airy and open with soaring 9’5″ beamed ceilings, rich hardwood floors, and four oversized north-facing windows that bathe the space in light all day long,” the description continues.

“It’s perfect for entertaining or unwinding in quiet luxury. The thoughtfully designed open kitchen blends style and function, with custom off-white cabinetry, elegant Carrara marble countertops, a large prep-and-serve island, and a butler’s pantry for all your culinary essentials.”

While Daly and Leoni largely keep the details of their relationship under wraps, it’s thought that the couple are now living together in a stunning Upper West Side apartment that the actress purchased back in 2013.

The Riverside Drive property is actually made up of three separate units, according to property records, which list Leoni as the sole owner of each property.

Two of those units were purchased together for $5.13 million, while the third was snapped up in 2022 for $1.35 million, records show, suggesting that Leoni and Daly have since expanded their home, perhaps to make more room for their blended family.
