Xiaomi Redmi 15 5G leak highlights key specifications ahead of global release

The Redmi 15 5G is expected to debut soon. A new leak suggests it will feature a large 6.9-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate and a 7,000mAh battery.

The Redmi 15 5G is an upcoming budget Android smartphone and a successor to the Redmi 13 5G, which was launched in 2024. Previously, we reported that the Redmi 15 5G received certification hinting at an imminent global release. Now, a new leak has emerged online, revealing its key specifications. 

The leaked promotional poster on the social media site X suggests that the Redmi 15 5G will feature a 6.9-inch FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate. The phone will feature the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 is an octa-core processor based on a 6nm architecture. 

One of the highlights of the upcoming Redmi 15 5G will be its large 7,000mAh battery. For comparison, the Redmi 13 5G had a smaller 5,030mAh battery. However, the Redmi 15 5G’s charging speed is still rated at 33W.

The leak reveals that the phone will feature a 50+2MP rear camera setup. The phone will have an 8MP front camera. Additionally, the smartphone will support NFC (Near Field Communication), allowing contactless payments.

According to the leak, the Redmi 15 5G will be priced between RM 699 and RM 750 in Malaysia, which converts to approximately 165 USD to 180 USD. Apart from this smartphone, Xiaomi is expected to release the Redmi 15C, an entry-level smartphone. Moreover, a flagship compact tablet, the Xiaomi Pad Mini, is reportedly in development.
