Manfrotto recently released the Pro Light lineup of tripod bags, available in three sizes/lengths: 69cm, 80cm, and 88cm. All bags come with a removable shoulder strap, a large, wide opening, a zippered inner pocket for quick-release plates and accessories, and a hidden compartment designed for a tracking device. So, let’s take a closer look at these!
After the recent launch of the Manfrotto ONE tripod last month (our first look here and embedded below), the Italian manufacturer is already back with three tripod bags as part of their Pro Light lineup.
If you are not familiar with Manfrotto’s Pro Light lineup of bags, it was introduced in October 2021 with a series of backpacks, and I also reviewed the Flexloader L here. To this day, I still use this backpack daily as it’s very comfortable, and it survived harsh shooting conditions worldwide for the past three years like a breeze. Then, in 2023, Manfrotto released the Cineloader bag series to store and transport fully rigged-up mirrorless and cinema cameras. It’s taking a bit of time, but Manfrotto is slowly updating all of their bags to the Pro Light lineup, featuring a similar look, high-quality finish, and durability. Let’s hope roller bags will be next on the list?

Manfrotto Pro Light Tripod Bag – features
The Manfrotto Pro Light tripod bag series consists of three models: the Pro Light Tripod Bag 69, the Pro Light Tripod Bag 80, and the Pro Light Tripod Bag 88. The primary difference among the three models is their length, which ranges from 69 cm (27.2 in) to 88 cm (34.7 in). All bags are made from nylon and polyester and feature a water-repellent fabric.
On the outside of the bags, you’ll find two carrying handles at both ends, a small window for a label or business card, two hooks for the included removable shoulder strap, and a main carrying handle. I personally love that main carrying handle as it’s not centered; it is slightly offset on one side. Indeed, a tripod doesn’t have a centered weight distribution; there is more weight on the tripod head side. With most tripod bags featuring a centered carrying handle, your tripod bag will lean forward or backward because the weight distribution is incorrect, which can be annoying. This Manfrotto offset design helps distribute the weight more evenly, allowing you to carry your bag straight.

The Manfrotto Pro Light tripod bags feature a large central opening, allowing for easy access to your tripod. Furthermore, all filmmakers have probably experienced this, but once your tripod is out of its bag, you use the bag to temporarily store random items during your shoot, such as clothes or small accessories. This wide opening allows you to use the Pro Light tripod bag as a very convenient work basket.
The interior of the bag is fully padded with extra red-colored reinforcement on the tripod head side. On the inside, you’ll also find a zippered inner pocket, as well as a hidden compartment for an AirTag or other tracking device. Lastly, the tripod bag features an adjustable strap with a buckle to help stabilize your tripod during transit, preventing wobbling.
