Vizcom has added its latest feature, Modify, an AI powered visual means to iterate on concepts without needing to redraw sketches.
Instead of producing a new drawing from scratch or having to spend time thinking of what prompt to type next, users can now adjust design with intuitive controls — sliders, toggles and real-world inputs – that Vizcom says creates a fast, fun, and surprisingly powerful means of delving into concepts.
“The traditional Vizcom workflow has always made it easy to bring your sketches to life. But once you’ve rendered an idea, iterating further often means starting over. We wanted to unlock a better way to explore — one that encourages play, encourages mistakes, and invites unexpected ideas to surface,” said a Vizcom spokesperson.
“From footwear to concept art, automotive to apparel, Modify gives you more ways to experiment, remix, and refine your ideas. All without the pain of starting over.”
Using New View, users can generate alternative perspectives of a product, helping visualise in a 3D space without the need for 3D tools.
Extract Material does what it says on the tin – extract materials from anything – a leaf, a sidewalk, a croissant – and apply them directly to a sketch or model.
Users can explore shape variation in matter of seconds using the Form Variation tool in Modify, which gives control over complexity, curvature, structure and flow — all through visual tools.
Additionally, for characters – although applicable to products too – the Change Expression tool can shift the tone of a product from cheerful to aggressive through a simple dial control.
While Modify remains in beta, it is available to all Vizcom users including Free plans. DEVELOP3D readers can apply here.
