Under The Patronage of Valeria Golino

September 25 – 27, 2025
Cineteca Milano Arlecchino, Cinema Mexico, Cinema Palestrina

Milan, July 16, 2025 – Cinemoda Club arrives in Milan, the first film series by Vogue Italia and Kering that celebrates the seventh art and its ongoing dialogue with the world of fashion. A project born from a shared vision: to support creativity as a driver for change and a generator of impact, promoting an encounter between fashion, cinema, and culture, that resonates with all generations.

Scheduled from September 25 to 27, during Milan Fashion Week, Cinemoda Club will take place in three historic cinemas, venues that have always been key to Milanese culture and beyond.
The Arlecchino, the beating heart of Cineteca Milano, is a historic single-screen cinema and currently the last one still operating in the city center. Inaugurated in 1948 and named after the Harlequin, a symbol of freedom, it stands as a unique model of modern art cinema, designed by Roberto Menghi and Mario Righini, featuring works by Lucio Fontana and Piero Fornasetti.

Cinema Mexico, active since the post-war years, is one of the last independently run single-screen theaters in Milan. It is renowned in Italy and internationally for its 30-year-long screening tradition of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Cinema Palestrina, a historic art-house cinema in the heart of the city, has always been known for showcasing the best of auteur and quality cinema, and for hosting one of Milan’s most important and long-standing cineforums.

The Cinemoda Club series is curated by Gian Luca Farinelli, film critic and director of Cinema Modernissimo and the Cineteca di Bologna Foundation, one of the most important cultural institutions dedicated to cinema on an international level, active in the preservation, restoration, promotion, and dissemination of film heritage.

The program includes a selection of 36 feature films: masterpieces, cult movies, and independent documentaries that have contributed to building, redefining, or deconstructing the fashion imaginary. Each screening will be presented in the original language with subtitles, introduced by experts and the Vogue Italia editorial team.

The Cinemoda Club initiative has been created under the patronage of Valeria Golino, actress, screenwriter, and director, who recently made history at the David di Donatello awards with her series L’arte della gioia, inspired by the novel of the same name by Goliarda Sapienza. Guest of honor of the program, she is also one of the leading actors in Fuori, a film by Mario Martone in which she portrays the Sicilian writer herself.

The desire to take part in this film series comes from the film lover I’ve been since childhood, but also from the interest in fashion that I’ve developed over time, thanks to my work. Being an actress first, and later a director, taught me that clothing is never just an aesthetic detail, but a narrative, emotional, and identity-defining element. Cinema and fashion speak the same language: one of imagination, transformation, and desire. Being the patron of Cinemoda Club, in a city like Milan and in a vibrant setting as Fashion Week, is both an honor and a true pleasure for me” affirmed Valeria Golino.

Cinemoda Club continues the path already started by Vogue Italia with Nouvelle Vogue, the first film series launched in Bologna in 2024 to celebrate the magazine’s sixtieth anniversary, with the aim of turning it into a widespread and participatory experience. Always attentive to the codes of the moving image, Vogue Italia has built a deep and ongoing relationship with cinema, recognizing its cultural, social, and aesthetic power.

Cinemoda Club is the place where clothing becomes language and the screen its most faithful mirror. With this project, we continue to tell the story of fashion through the cultural currents that carried it, the society that wore it, and the people who dreamed, created, and revolutionized it. An initiative that celebrates the DNA of our magazine and reflects Vogue Italia’s ongoing commitment to its audience and its desire to give space to all forms of creativity, creating dynamic and meaningful experiences for our readers, on the page and beyond, now also in a movie theater” declared Francesca Ragazzi, Head of Editorial Content at Vogue Italia.

CINEMODA Club is also a testament to Kering’s vibrant relationship with cinema. A partner of the Festival de Cannes since 2015, Kering has actively supported the cinema industry for over a decade. 2025 also marks the 10th anniversary of Women In Motion—a programme launched at the Festival de Cannes to celebrate women’s talent both in front of and behind the camera. A pioneering initiative, Women In Motion has extended its presence to other leading film festivals worldwide including the Shanghai International Film Festival, the Tokyo International Film Festival and the Palm Springs International Film Festival, and branched out to photography and other major creative fields, supporting and highlighting the diversity of the voices shaping the artistic world, and providing a space for dialogue and action through its Awards, its Talks and its Podcasts.

At Kering, we see fashion and cinema as two creative disciplines in constant dialogue, each drawing strength from the other. Both use style, stories, and images to move us, to inspire, and to shape the way culture is felt and seen. They don’t just reflect the world, they reinterpret it, reframe it, and reveal its hidden layers. Cinemoda Club celebrates this profound exchange between two art forms that endlessly enrich one another” said Laurent Claquin, Kering Chief Brand Officer.

Starting this month, Vogue Italia will accompany the series with reviews, editorial insights, and exclusive content on its website and social media, dedicated to the history of the screenings, behind-the-scenes stories, and that of the cinemas involved.
