Live from the Yard music festival cancelled

A music festival in Hull has been cancelled for a second year running, organisers have said.

Live From The Yard could “no longer go ahead” due to “a combination of rising costs and the negative impact of the situation on ticket sales”, a post on social media said.

Hull singer-songwriter Calum Scott had been due to perform at Zebedee’s Yard on 9 August.

Organisers said people who had already bought tickets would receive a refund.

“We apologise to the artists and their fans for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause,” the post said.

Karen Rigby, from Liverpool, had tickets to celebrate her 60th birthday.

“After seeing him in Nottingham last year I was so happy my partner had bought us tickets for Hull,” she said.

Her partner received an email on Thursday telling him the concert was cancelled and they would receive a refund.

“Another family paid for the booking of a hotel as we live in Liverpool and a meal was booked. Unfortunately the hotel booking is non-refundable.”

“I am really disappointed”, she said.

The opening night of Live From The Yard in 2024, at which Calum Scott was also due to perform, was postponed and rescheduled to this year after riots in the city centre.
