For those who love exploring Night City in Cyberpunk 2077, a new fan-made expansion has made the city feel more alive than ever.
One thing has remained constant in the five years since Cyberpunk 2077 released, and that’s the overwhelming sense of place that every square metre of Night City embodies.
Simply ignoring the main quest and taking a little stroll around the city has become a favourite pastime of Cyberpunk 2077 fans, and thanks to a new mod this has just become all the more immersive.
Responsive V is a new mod from creator MisterChedda that improves on the interactions V can make with the world surrounding them.
It allows them to respond dynamically with contextual voice lines and physical animations depending on the situation, and it helps make their interactions with the world feel much more alive.
For example, V now reacts to being bumped while walking, where they might give them the finger and tell them to get lost, or they might swear when hitting another vehicle while driving.
The mod achieves this by grabbing unused dialogue for V that was left in the game files by CD Projekt Red, and adding them to the mod to be used contextually depending on the situation.
V will also respond to Johnny’s remarks when in a vehicle, and won’t simply remain silent like in the base game.
It’s a decent mod for fleshing out V’s character, as well as the wider Night City narrative design.
While there are a lot of new voice lines you’ll hear with this mod, it only has one animation for V giving someone the finger. MisterChedda has even joked about originally calling the mod “The Finger”.
You can download Responsive V from Nexus Mods now. Obviously, it’ll only work with PC versions of Cyberpunk 2077. So don’t go thinking you can grab this for Xbox, PS5, or Nintendo Switch 2.
