Team Australia returned home with 16 swimming medals from last year’s World Championships, clinching three golds, nine silvers and four bronze medals.
The team, led by five-time Olympic gold medallist Kaylee McKeown and Olympic 100m freestyle gold medallist Kyle Chalmers, made it quite clear that they want to do better at the 2025 World Aquatics Championships in Singapore.
What better way to start their quest than winning two 4x100m freestyle gold medals on the opening day?
The World Aquatics Championships — previously known as the FINA World Championships and often referred to as the World Swimming Championships — have been held since 1973. The Singapore edition marks the 22nd staging of the event.
