Governor House committed to promote KP’s soft image: Kundi

ISLAMABAD  –  Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi on Sunday reaffirmed his commitment to promoting the province’s soft image among the diplomatic community and working to attract investment, boost tourism, and create educational and employment opportunities for the youth.

The Governor was speaking as the chief guest at a farewell luncheon hosted in honour of Austria’s outgoing Ambassador to Pakistan, Andrea Wicke. The event was organised by Qaiser Nawab and Sardar Waqar Shehzad.

Kundi highlighted the province’s rich potential in religious tourism and reiterated the efforts of security forces in maintaining peace and stability in the region. “We are striving to open doors of opportunity for our youth and to introduce Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s entrepreneurs to international markets so that the province can attain economic prosperity,” he said.

He added that the Governor House was open to everyone and continues to play a role in promoting dialogue and development.

Ambassador Andrea Wicke, while reflecting on her tenure in Pakistan, expressed deep appreciation for the hospitality and cultural diversity she experienced during her visits across the country. She described her visit to Peshawar as particularly memorable, praising the city’s vibrant traditions and warmth of its people.

The farewell luncheon was attended by several distinguished guests including Wada Mitsuhiro, Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan; Dr Emmanuel R Fernandez, Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan; Dr Zaher Zaid, Palestinian Ambassador to Pakistan; diplomats from the US Embassy; former ministers; senior journalists; and other notable figures from various sectors.
