Haleon Names Vindi Banga as Chair

By Andrea Figueras

Haleon said it appointed Vindi Banga as chair, succeeding Dave Lewis, who is set to become chief executive of U.K. drinks group Diageo.

The British consumer-health company said Monday that Lewis would step down as chair and director on Dec. 31, with Banga taking over from Jan. 1.

Banga served as Haleon's senior independent director since the company's listing in 2022.

"The board was unanimous in its appointment of Vindi given his wealth of global corporate and commercial leadership experience," the group said. He spent 33 years at Unilever, where he held a number of executive roles.

Banga is currently chair of U.K. Government Investments and a partner at private investment firm CD&R. He is also chair of council at Imperial College London and was previously senior independent director at GSK and Marks & Spencer.
