Mardan, Kohat education boards announce SSC exam results – Newspaper

MARDAN/KOHAT: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan, on Tuesday declared the results of the secondary school certificate annual examinations.

The results were announced during a ceremony held in the board’s auditorium hall.

Mardan division commissioner Nisar Ahmad Khan was the chief guest.

Board chairman Prof Jehanzeb Khan, the top position holders along with their parents and other family members were in attendance.

As per the results, Mohammad Athar Khan, a student of Quaid-i-Azam Public School and Montessori System, Mardan, got the first position by securing 1,177 out of 1,200 marks.

Three students jointly clinched the second position by securing 1,172 marks each. They included Sidra Maham of Quaid-i-Azam Girls Public School, Swabi, Roza Siraj and Sania Falak of Ghazali School for Girls, Mardan.

Similarly, the third position was also shared by three students with each obtaining 1,170 marks. They included Aqsa Rehman of Ghazali School for Girls, Mardan, Khaqan Ahmad of Iqra Model School, Chargulli Mardan, and Uroosa Anwar of Quaid-i-Azam Girls Public School, Swabi. All the top three position holders belonged to the science group.

In the humanities group, Fakiha Faiz of Government Girls High School, Beka Swabi, bagged top position with 1,119 marks.

The second position was secured by Khadija of Government Girls High School, Khat Killi, Nowshera, by getting 1,079 marks.

Two students, Areeba of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Manki Sharif, Nowshera, and Zuhra Bibi of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Akora Khattak, Nowshera, jointly obtained the third position getting 1,074 marks each.

The pass percentage in the science group stood at 80.73pc, and at 62.99pc in the arts group.

A total of 76,900 candidates appeared in the exams, out of which 19,020 were unsuccessful. The overall pass percentage remained 75.27pc.

Meanwhile, girls outperformed boys in Kohat BISE matriculation results announced on Tuesday.

Kohat BISE’s controller of examinations Malik Masood Anwar said 100,984 candidates appeared in both the 9th and 10th grades in both the science and arts groups, out of whom 53,484 qualified with a pass percentage of 52.96pc.

In the science group, Hoorain Saeed and Mehwish from Shaheen Children’s Academy and College, Mithakhel, Karak, stood first, securing 1,149 marks each. The second position was shared by Misba Faisal of Iqra Public School and College, Kohat, Ayeza Ijaz and Tayyaba Maheen of Shaheen Children’s Academy, Mithakhel, scoring 1,148 marks each.

The third position was clinched by a student of Cadet College Kohat, getting 1,147 marks.

In the arts group too, girls clinched top three positions. The first position went to Zeenat Bibi with 1,059 marks, the second position was grabbed by Ammara Bibi with 1,049 marks, while the third position was clinched by Sheema Bibi with 1,040 marks.

MNA Shehryar Afridi, who was the chief guest at the result declaration ceremony, gave away cash prizes and certificates to the position holders.
