Having already won gold in the 100m breaststroke at both Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020, Peaty is planning to contest the 50m and 100m breaststroke events, along with the 4x100m medley relay and 4x100m mixed medley relay, where he will be a key member of Team GB’s pursuit of Olympic success.
Peaty also expressed optimism about Great Britain’s chances in the medley relay, where the team has historically fallen just short against the USA.
“We want to beat America on home turf in that medley,” he said. “We’ve got the incredible Oliver Morgan on backstroke, some very strong times – and that’s always been our weak link at previous Olympics. It’s very exciting.”
