Hammad Azhar to seek protective bail from PHC in over 50 cases

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former finance minister Hammad Azhar has decided to approach the Peshawar High Court (PHC) for protective bail in connection with more than 50 cases registered against him across multiple cities.

According to sources, Azhar has finalized his legal strategy after extensive consultations with his legal team. The cases, mostly linked to the May 9 incidents, have been filed in Lahore, Faisalabad, and Islamabad.

Azhar plans to first obtain protective bail from the PHC, allowing him to travel and subsequently apply for bail in the relevant trial courts where the FIRs have been registered.

Sources further revealed that his legal team has compiled a comprehensive record of the cases. Azhar has been declared wanted and an absconder in several of them. He is expected to personally appear before the PHC for the bail hearing in the coming days.
