Australia make four changes for final Test against British & Irish Lions

Australia have made four changes to their starting XV for the final Test of the Qatar Airways British & Irish Lions Tour to Australia 2025.

There are two alterations apiece in the forwards and the backs, while two new names have been slotted in among the replacements for the match at the Accor Stadium in Sydney on Saturday.

Nic White will make his 73rd and final appearance in gold, with the scrum-half announcing his retirement from international rugby after the third Test.

Dylan Pietsch also comes into the side as he replaces Harry Potter on the left wing.

In the forwards, Taniela Tupou makes his first international appearance in 2025 as he replaces the injured Allan Alaalatoa at tighthead prop.

Tom Hooper has come in for Rob Valetini at blindside flanker, with Valetini being managed having made his return from injury in the second Test, which the Lions won 29-26.

Prop Zane Nonggorr has come into the replacements, replacing Tom Robertson on the bench, while Carlo Tizzano has made way for Andrew Kellaway.

The Wallabies are seeking to avoid a whitewash for the first time since 1966 as Andy Farrell’s charges lead 2-0.

The series began in Brisbane with Australia suffering a 27-19 loss, and they were then unable to fight back against the Lions in front of a record crowd in Melbourne.

Head coach Joe Schmidt is hoping the home supporters will be able to inspire the Wallabies to victory.

“The squad was certainly deflated after the gut-wrenching end to last week’s Test in Melbourne,” Schmidt said.

“But they have started to gather momentum in the back half of the week and will be ready to go again on Saturday.

“The support in Brisbane and Melbourne helped to lift the squad, and I know the support this weekend in Accor Stadium will again help to lift the players in the high-pressure moments that we know are coming.”
