Duncan Scott’s issue with complainers
In a sport as punishing physically and mentally as swimming, motivation is everything.
It’s the reason why many of the world’s top swimmers train in elite groups.
Even on a tough training day, they can usually rely on the swimmers grinding away beside them for inspiration.
However, some are pessimistic, which drags the mood of others down with them.
“Complaining. That’s probably the biggest one that really frustrates me,” said Team GB’s eight-time Olympic medallist Duncan Scott.
“Why not be proactive and do something about it if you have a problem, rather than sitting there and complaining, or pointing the finger at someone else.
“I think taking a little bit of accountability is always something that I’m a huge fan of. If a swim didn’t go right, there’s a reason for it.”
