Nawaz, Maryam discuss deepening Pakistan-Saudi ties with Ambassador Al-Malki

Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki met with PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Thursday to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional matters.

During the meeting, Nawaz Sharif extended his warm regards and best wishes to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, expressing admiration and respect for the Saudi leadership.

The discussion centered on enhancing cooperation in key areas such as economic development, defence collaboration, and fostering unity within the Muslim Ummah. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening the longstanding political, economic, and defence relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Agreements were reached to broaden defence cooperation, initiate joint training programs, enhance intelligence sharing, and provide mutual support.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the spiritual and emotional importance of Saudi Arabia for Muslims worldwide. She highlighted that Pakistan-Saudi relations are rooted in mutual trust, shared values, and a historic bond of brotherhood.

She also reiterated that Saudi Arabia remains a cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy, with ties strengthening across various sectors. Additionally, she commended Saudi Arabia’s vital role in promoting peace across the region.

Maryam Nawaz expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Saudi leadership for accommodating approximately 2.5 million Pakistani citizens working and residing in the Kingdom.
