Jaipur Pink Panthers, U Mumba, Telugu Titans, Puneri Paltan, Bengaluru Bulls, Dabang Delhi K.C., Patna Pirates and Bengal Warrirors (later rebranded to Bengal Warriorz) were the original eight teams in the PKL.
Starting from the fifth season, four more franchises – Tamil Thalaivas, Gujarat Giants, UP Yoddhas and Haryana Steelers – joined the Pro Kabaddi League, taking the total of teams to 12.
Patna Pirates are the most successful team in Pro Kabaddi history with three titles.
They won a hat-trick of Pro Kabaddi crowns from Season 3 to 5 and are the only team in the PKL to have successfully defended their crown.
The Pirates are also the team with most PKL final appearances – five. They lost the Season 8 and 11 finals to Dabang Delhi K.C. and Haryana Steelers, respectively.
