Jenna Ortega’s ‘Wednesday’ Paris Look Gets Boost From Ghillie Platforms

Jenna Ortega followed up her striking Ashi Studio and Jimmy Choo combo from Wednesday with a mauve Vivienne Westwood ensemble featuring bold lace-up platforms on Thursday. The actress has been doing a whirlwind promotion for Season Two of Tim Burton’s Netflix series “Wednesday,” in which she plays the lead macabre character.

Following the London premiere, Ortega and the “Wednesday” team attended a Paris celebration on the Seine, where she modeled the Elevated Ghillie Platform style, a footwear look of the fashion house which Ortega has embraced before. Taking inspiration from classic ghillie brogues, the design goes all in on a bold, chunky silhouette with steeply sloping lines, a thick block heel and a hefty upturned toe. The shoes also feature laces criss-crossing up the foot and ankle. A daring silhouette that’s been reimagined in different ways over the years, Naomi Campbell famously fell on the runway in 1993 wearing a Super Elevated Ghillie.

While the Ghillie has been presented in many colors, materials and patterns, Ortega showcased a reptilian embossed purple version which picked up her outfit, hailing from Andreas Kronthaler’s fall 2025 collection for Vivienne Westwood. The look is a corseted deep V-neck gown crafted from purple silk stretch twill and accented by ruffle trim. Ortega was still sporting the bleached eyebrows she debuted earlier in the week, and her accessories included a cross pendant necklace.

Ortega previously wore a black version of the Ghillie style with a pinstriped Vivienne Westwood look in the fall amid promotion of “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” another Tim Burton project. She doesn’t shy away from a platform shoe, having just worn a gold version of Jimmy Choo’s Max style at the “Wednesday” London premiere.
