Summer McIntosh cruises to fourth gold with 400m IM title at World Swimming Championships

McIntosh entered the Singapore championships aiming to match the legendary Michael Phelps’ five-gold haul from a single World Championships.

She ultimately fell one short after American great Katie Ledecky claimed an eighth consecutive title in the 800m freestyle, leaving McIntosh with bronze.

But Sunday’s championship record in the 400m IM was a fitting consolation—and a remarkable finish to a sensational meet for the teenage star where she also won gold medals in 400m freestyle, 200m butterfly, 200m individual medley.
