It has been decades since TItan Quest first released. The original game landed in 2006, giving players an alternative to the massive ARPGs of the time, like Diablo. Last night during the THQ Nordic showcase, Titan Quest 2 was shadowdropped, giving fans an entire new game to explore.
Titan Quest 2 is now available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in early access form. The surprise sequel includes a combat system overhaul with real-time dodging and counterattacks, new factions that influence gear drops and questlines, a huge graphical upgrade and the addition of new mechanics like Dynamic World Events to give players additional ways to level up beyond the main campaign missions.
THQ Nordic says Titan Quest 2 should take around 20-hours to beat on a first run in its current state. However, the current top-rated Steam user review currently makes the claim that it can all be finished in six hours. As always with ARPGs, your playtime will vary based on your goals. If you are looking to ‘max out’ your character, then you’ll be spending much more time blasting through repeatable content to acquire gear with the perfect stat rolls. If you are someone who just cares about main story, then you’ll be finished with the game much faster than someone who is primarily interested in endgame content.
Titan Quest 2 does not currently have an early access roadmap, so it is unclear how long it will take to reach V1.0, but we expect to see regular updates in the months ahead.
KitGuru Says: Typically Early Access projects remain in early access for at least a year or two before re-launching. I would expect TItan Quest 2 to follow a similar timeline.
