The rumors are beginning to trickle in, and a new report from the internal documents used by wireless carriers seems to indicated that Tuesday, September 9, will be the most likely date for Apple’s iPhone 17 event.
Prior to this, based on the patterns seen between 2021 and 2024, tech insiders narrowed the release down to the week of September 7, with Tuesday, September 9, being the most likely day. Historically, Apple has favored Tuesdays for iPhone launches, but last year opted for Monday—presumably to avoid the U.S. Presidential Debate on Tuesday.
Per documents used by wireless carriers, this date seems likely. German site iPhone-Ticker says it got sight of internal documents from at least one local carrier, giving the launch date as September 9.
The following are the three dates that could be the most important surrounding the iPhone 17 launch:
iPhone 17 keynote: Tue 9 September
Pre-orders open: Fri 12 September
First orders ship and retail sale begins: Fri 19 September
