Having initially missed out on a starting spot for the sealed-surface event, Csomós is taking over the Team MRF Tyres registration originally earmarked for Stéphane Lefebvre, who now won’t take part on round six of the 2025 ERC season.

Csomós, a two-time ERC podium finisher, will drive an Orsák Rallysport-prepared Škoda Fabia RS Rally2 co-driven by fellow Hungarian Krisztián Kertész, as Team MRF Tyres bids to strengthen its grip on a third FIA European Rally Championship for Teams.
“This is a great opportunity, for which I’m incredibly grateful to MRF Tyres, Orsák Rallysport and, of course, to our loyal and longstanding partners,” said Csomós, who impressed for Team MRF Tyres on ERC Staff House Rally Hungary back in May before his early exit.

“Even now, it’s hard to believe – just two days ago, the idea of competing in this year’s Barum Rally wasn’t even on the table, and now we find ourselves joining such a well-established and experienced team as Orsák Rallysport. None of this would have been possible without the support of MRF Tyres, who immediately stood by us and are doing everything they can to help us perform at our best in the Czech Republic.
“I’m really excited for the rally – we have both good and challenging memories here, but naturally the first thing that comes to mind is the best result of my career, which I achieved at this event. Zlín and its surroundings are a true stronghold of rallying, and Czech fans are incredibly passionate and knowledgeable – we absolutely love competing in front of them. I’ll also be debuting with a new co-driver, Krisztián Kertész. Our main goal this time will be to reach the finish, but of course, we’re also aiming for a solid result.”

Csomós, 32, finished Barum Czech Rally Zlín in second place among the ERC contenders in 2023. He then completed the V-Híd Rally Hungary podium in 2024. However, financial restrictions have limited his ERC outings since then, making his return next week highly anticipated.
