ERL Celebrates Fifth Anniversary With Electric Blue Vamp Sneakers

ERL is presenting its signature Vamp sneakers in an Electric Blue colorway as part of its fifth anniversary celebration.

The shoes, which are part of its fall 2025 collection, are available for $520 on the brand’s website. The sneaker features a chunky foam vamp, padded and lined in plush terry, and is built with a blue gum sole featuring California artwork.

The shoes feature bright blue cotton laces as well as bone white laces. The electric blue foam colorway is rendered from a flexible polyurethane.

The packaging for the shoe is produced from the same corrugated material used by the United States Postal Service. The boxes are transparent enough to reveal the ERL newsprint wrapping inside, with archival prints from local 1970s Venice Beach underground newspapers. The chunky sneaker also recalls ERL’s signature swirl and wave motifs with a local grunge aesthetic.

The ERL Vamps were designed in Venice Beach, Calif., and developed over several years, and became a hit when they were introduced in 2024. The simple skate shoe features a complex design, and the Vamp invokes the energy of its creator, Eli Russell Linnetz‘s hometown.

The brand continued to expand its footwear imprint, releasing a new flip-flop in July. The ERL flip-flop went viral thanks to its exaggerated platform heels, which Kylie Jenner recently wore. The flip-flops come in three versions, starting with the traditional Low silhouette, and going up in height to the Big flip-flop and then the Huge flip-flop that has a platform measuring eight inches.

“What I love to do at ERL is twist things or put them in an extreme way,” the designer recently told FN about his designs. “With my background in 3D animation and film, I love to play with proportion and scale in a 3D space where there’s no sense of reality.”

The designer said he is continually working on building up ERL’s shoe offerings, and says he is developing six new styles for this year, including a running shoe, a basketball shoe and cowboy boots, as well as more new versions of the Vamps.

“I’m obsessed with making shoes, and footwear has become a big focus for me. It’s been really cool to get into the rhythm of making new shapes and models,” he said.

The Vamps are available at erl.store.
