Enter the Mushroom Kingdom With These New ‘Super Mario’ S.H.Figuarts Action Figures

Before Mario and Luigi return to the Mushroom Kingdom in The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2, S.H.Figuarts has released its action figure collection based on the iconic Nintendo IP. The Super Mario collection features four characters from the hit video game, along with accessories, allowing collectors to recreate their favorite video game or movie moments on their shelves.

The characters featured in this latest action figure set are Mario, Luigi, Bowser, and Yoshi, as well as a separate playset that features goombas, pipes, bricks, and other things needed to build the Mushroom Kingdom at home. These Super Mario Bros. figures include the iconic characters, with a baseplate that features their logo/icons, as well as some accessories like exchangeable parts and other decorative pieces. The same can be said for The Super Mario playset, which includes baseplates and other mounts to create various obstacle courses for these video game heroes. These figures have a price range between $38 and $78. They are now available for pre-order on Amazon, with a scheduled arrival date of April 2026, hopefully in time for their highly anticipated sequel.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was released in 2023 and became the second-highest-grossing film of 2023, generating over $1.3 billion at the global box office, just below Barbie. The film featured a star-studded cast – with Chris Pratt voicing Mario, Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Peach, and Jack Black as Bowser – and it follows Mario and Luigi’s adventure in the Mushroom Kingdom after stumbling into a warp pipe located underground in Brooklyn.

What’s Next for ‘The Super Mario Bros.’ in Hollywood?

Following the massive success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie, it was announced that a sequel will be released. At the moment, any hints of a plot remain under wraps, but a post-credit scene from the first feature teased that it may have something to do with the Yoshis. Meanwhile, Illumination’s CEO, Chris Meledandri, teased at a Nintendo Stakeholders meeting that this next Mario installment would cater to those who have yet to “embrace Mario and the world of Nintendo.”

Additionally, it was recently reported that a Donkey Kong movie may be in the works, as Nintendo filed a copyright registration for an “untitled Donkey Kong Project” at the U.S. Copyright Office. Seth Rogen played Donkey Kong in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. While nothing has been officially confirmed, the actor pitched in an interview with ScreenRant that a solo DK project could be based on Donkey Kong Country.
