Excessive screen time is associated with increased risk of sleep disorders in people across all age groups (V. S. Nakshine et al. Cureus14, e30051; 2022). In children and adolescents, it’s also associated with disrupted circadian rhythms (L. Tarokh et al. Curr. Sleep Med. Rep. 5, 181–192; 2019) and increased risk of metabolic disorders (L. Jahangiry et al. Nutr. Metab. Cardiovasc. Dis. 32, 2483–2492; 2022).
