Hey TV watchers! This story reflects our guide for the week of Aug. 11-17, 2025. To see the guide for next week, read USA TODAY’s coverage here. And for Aug. 4-10 guide, read here.
You don’t have to travel to deep space to find the next “Alien” story.
The horror film series, which began with Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic starring Sigourney Weaver, is coming to the small screen this week with “Alien: Earth,” a new FX series (streaming on Hulu) that literally brings the terrifying aliens from the films down to Earth. The well-reviewed series is one of a few new TV series premiering this week, (Aug. 11-17, 2025), vying for your attention as summer begins to wind down.
Also streaming are a documentary about the Kansas City Chiefs and another about former NBC reality series “The Biggest Loser,” among a handful of lower-profile and imported series on the likes of Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, HBO Max and more. It’s a quiet week for new TV, but that means there’s so much more time to spend with your “Alien” friends. To help you decide what’s worth your binge-watching time, we’ve listed every TV show that will premiere (or already has) on streaming this week. We’ve highlighted in bold the shows we think are especially worth your time as you fill your queues.
