LAHORE – A large number of enthusiastic players participated in the three-day trials held to select the Punjab junior golf team. The players showcased both skill and promise. Based on performances, the final selections were:Shameer Majid of Defence Rayaemerged as the winner with consistent rounds of 74, 74, and 71 (aggregate 219). Sharan Ali Khan of Rawalpindi Golf Club finished second with scores of 71, 77, and 73 (aggregate 221) while Zayd Omer of Lahore Garrison Greens claimed third slot with an overall score of 226. Other promising youngsters included Ahmed Ibrahim (Defence Raya), Abdul Moeez (Rawalpindi), and Muhammad Nauman (Sargodha).
Meanwhile, the trials of girls were held at 36 holes, selecting only three girls, who met the age criteria. Amna Tiwana was on top with a score of 160 followed by Zerish Irfan with a score of 181 and Aliha Amjad with score 192.
PGA ELECTS NEW BOARD
The newly elected Board of Directors of the Punjab Golf Association (PGA) was formally sworn in during a specially convened meeting at the Lahore Garrison Greens Golf Club.
The new Board comprises Brig Kamran Aslam as Secretary, Maj Gen (R) Saeed Nagra as Senior Vice President, Muhammad Ali Habib as Vice President, and Brig (R) Irfan Barth as Joint Secretary. On the occasion, Brig Kamran Aslam, an accomplished golfer, expressed his commitment to promoting greater golfing activity across the province and nurturing young talent with the potential to achieve excellence at national and international levels.
