Lori Harvey reflects on her ‘Reasonable Doubt’ casting

Lori Harvey has recently opened up about her casting in the upcoming third season of Reasonable Doubt series.

The model, who is a daughter to comedian and TV host Steve Harvey, reflected on her career in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE.

Lori revealed that she’s been attending acting camps since her pre-teen years. Last yar, she made her acting debut in Peacock limited series Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist.

“I’m just at the part in my life now where I really want to focus on it and take [acting] seriously,” she told the outlet.

While talking about her role in Reasonable Doubt, Lori shared that it’s “a dream role” for her after following series’ first two seasons closely as a fan.

Elsewhere in the interview, Lori discussed her audition process for the new series.

She recalled speaking to creator Raamla Mohamed about her forthcoming projects and then she followed her on Instragram.

“I DM’ed her and I was like, ‘Hey, you know, I’m serious. Can we exchange information? I’d love to catch up and get dinner,’” mentioned the 28-year-old.

Lori pointed out that it’s “one of those things where you think you know someone, I was like, ‘I wonder what we’re going to talk about, but okay’. And we just hit it off”.

Later, the model auditioned for the role and after a callback, the gig was hers.

After the news of her casting was announced, fans slammed her on social media for joining the show.

Sharing her reaction, Lori responded, “I’m a new actress. I think in this day and age of social media, people don’t really understand that everybody has to start somewhere.”

“Honestly, you can’t look at the comments because I feel like they just become a cesspool for negativity,” she remarked.

“It honestly fuels me. It drives me more,” added the actress and model.

Meanwhile, the third season of Reasonable Doubt will premiere on September 18 on Hulu.
