Nick Lachey stepped into an unexpected celebrity debate as he showed support for Taylor Swift in her lighthearted back and forth with NFL star Jason Kelce over cats and allergies.
The 98 Degrees singer and Love Is Blind host spoke with Access Hollywood while promoting Purina ONE LiveClear’s “LiveClear, Love Clear” campaign.
He explained that the brand’s new video series focused on couples facing challenges when one partner suffered from cat allergies. The discussion came after Swift recently joked about the Kelce family’s situation, which quickly went viral.
Swift, who has immense love for her three cats, teased Jason Kelce on the New Heights podcast and said he should try to live peacefully with his wife Kylie’s pets despite his allergies.
Lachey sided with Swift, saying that compromise was often the key to keeping relationships strong.
In the same interview, Lachey reflected on his own reality television career with wife Vanessa, describing hosting Love Is Blind together as a form of “marriage therapy” and said the process helped strengthen their own relationship.
However, the star also spoke about Netflix’s Perfect Match Season 3 finale and admitted he was surprised that AD and Ollie were the only couple who stayed together.
Lachey also mentioned how his children viewed his career and shared that they were more familiar with his television work than with his years as a chart-topping singer.
