PMD forecasts rainy weather in Punjab and upper areas

Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday issued a forecast warning that the weather is likely to ‎remain hot and humid in most parts of the country.‎

According to the PMD, rain with strong winds and thundershowers is expected at most places in Kashmir and North-‎East Punjab.  While at a few places in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, South Punjab, and North-East Balochistan. ‎During this period, heavy rain is likely in North-East Punjab and Kashmir.‎

The weather in Islamabad and nearby areas will be hot, humid, and partly cloudy, with possible rain or ‎thunderstorms in the morning. Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will remain hot and humid. However, in Swat, ‎Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Buner, Peshawar, Kohat, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Hangu, and ‎Waziristan, the weather will be partly cloudy. ‎

In Punjab, rain with strong winds and thunderstorms are expected in Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, ‎Narowal, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Gulyat, Chakwal, ‎Jhelum, and surrounding areas. Heavy rain is also expected at a few places.‎

During the evening/night, Rahim Yar Khan, Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Multan, Khanewal, Rajanpur, DG Khan, ‎and Gurdaspur areas are expected to remain partly cloudy with the possibility of rain with strong winds, and ‎thunderstorms.‎

In Balochistan, partly humid weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, rain with strong winds ‎and thunderstorms is possible in Barkhan, Zhob, Musakhel, Loralai, Awaran, Lasbela and Gardo areas in the ‎evening. ‎

In Sindh, partly cloudy weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, rain with strong winds and ‎thundershowers may occur at a few places in Gotkhi, Sukkur, Khairpur, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Sanghar and ‎surrounding areas.‎

In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir will have cloudy skies with a chance of rain, strong winds, thunderstorms, ‎and heavy rainfall at some places, while Gilgit-Baltistan is expected to remain partly cloudy.‎
