Per the presser:
The narrative-driven supermarket sim has quickly found a loyal following, climbing to #2 in the Nintendo Switch charts (and still currently holding strong at #5) and topped Steam’s New & Trending Releases at #1 and is still flying high (amassing 250,000+ wishlists along the way) becoming one of 2025’s breakout indie hits.
Set in the seaside town of Blomkest, Discounty has struck a chord with players across the globe thanks to its unique mix of chillstore management, small-town drama, and delightfully offbeat humor.
Discounty was developed by a small but incredibly talented team of just five people, who poured their creativity, passion, and countless hours into bringing the quirky world of Blomkest to life. What makes the story even more exciting is that this is only the beginning – the team is fully committed to building on the game’s early success, with a roadmap of ongoing updates, quality-of-life improvements, and brand-new features already in the works.
“We are so thrilled with the community’s response to the game, and thanks to them it’s only going to get better!” says Ian Stewart, Communications Director for Crinkle Cut Games. “Because of their support we can continue developing free content updates in the months to come (and beyond!), and we have a lot of cool things planned to expand the endgame and add replayability that our community is absolutely going to love.”
“Discounty proves that original ideas and a passionate team can create something players truly love. Working with the talented Crinkle Cut Games team has been a real pleasure, and we look forward to continuing to develop the wonderful town of Blomkest!”
Andy Pearson, Chief Marketing Officer at PQube.
