Just as awards season begins in earnest in Hollywood, New York Fashion Week is set to kick off with its own awards show: The Annual Daily Front Row Fashion Media Awards, created by Brandusa Niro, who founded DailyFrontRow.com (the insiders’ insider NY fashion news) and Daily Front Row magazine, published during fashion weeks. Now in their twelfth year, the FMAs will be handed out, as usual, the first Friday night of NYFW (Sept. 12) at the top of 30 Rock, New York’s art deco Rainbow Room. They award achievements in media, style and creativity. In the past, recipients have included Christian Louboutin, Bob Mackie, Jerry Hall, Anna Sui, and Zendaya, and the ceremony has drawn top talent to present as well. The dress code? Do your own thing, but make sure everyone’s looking.
This year’s awards will be hosted by fashion blogger Bronwyn Newport, part of the cast of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
There’s always a good smattering of celebs in tow. In the past, I’ve spotted Sarah Jessica Parker, Martha Stewart, Alan Cumming, Rihanna, Debbie Harry, Sofia Coppola, Gigi Hadid and so many more.
