Bob Dylan exhibition launched ahead of Coventry concert

A pop-up exhibition celebrating Bob Dylan ahead of his first ever concert in Coventry has been launched.

The display, at Coventry Music Museum in Walsgrave Road, will celebrate the superstar and the popular cover of his song Maggie’s Farm by The Specials, who are from the city.

Visitors will be welcomed to the “Still Working on Maggie’s Farm” exhibition until December.

Coventry Building Society Arena will host the music icon on 13 November, welcoming him to the city for the first time.

The museum said the exhibition would centre around a Bob Dylan-themed room, which would feature items relating to some of his most famous lyrics.

It will celebrate Dylan’s UK Rough and Rowdy Ways tour, which will stop at Brighton, Swansea, Coventry, Leeds, Glasgow and Belfast in November.

Mike Lloyd, industry expert and music promoter, said the concert would be a win for Coventry.

“It’s absolutely huge because people travel from everywhere for it.

“It’s particularly massive because it’s the only gig in the Midlands and because it’s Bob Dylan.

“He so rarely appears in this country, loads of people will be coming out to what I’m sure will be a sold out show.”
