AeroPlay Entertainment, a Maxposure company, has introduced two exciting new features to the SkyView software platform that powers its wireless, battery-operated AeroHub in-flight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) solution. These include an end-to-end retail offering, AirShop; and a next-generation moving map, Flight360.
AirShop will allow passengers to browse and purchase duty-free products from their seats, either using a seatback screen or their personal electronic devices. It enables instant contactless payments and offers customers the choice of airport pick-up or home delivery.
On the backend, AirShop provides smart inventory management and seamless supplier integration to support airlines to open up new revenue streams securely and efficiently.
Meanwhile, Maxposure’s new Flight360 moving map offering provides passengers with the ability to view their route with interactive pan-and-zoom navigation and to get real-time updates on altitude, speed, and position, as well as to monitor their estimated arrival time. The map content is presented in a 360-degree format.
“With features like Airshop and Flight360, SkyView transforms the cabin into a space where travelers can be entertained, shop securely, and stay informed.”
– Sameer Sirdeshmukh, AeroHub
AirShop and Flight360 have been under active development for the last two-to-three years, with continuous improvements driven by customer feedback and industry needs. They were created entirely in-house by a technical team of around 30 developers.
The new features are available to all AeroHub’s existing customers immediately via a software update to the SkyView platform over the air or using a flash drive, depending on the airline’s preference and operational setup. AeroHub’s clients include carriers such as Kenya Airways, Chrono Air, and Garuda Indonesia.
Maxposure’s Head of Aerohub Sameer Sirdeshmukh said, “Today’s passengers expect flexibility, choice, and seamless digital experiences even at 35,000 feet. With features like Airshop and Flight360, SkyView transforms the cabin into a space where travelers can be entertained, shop securely, and stay informed – all through an intuitive, future-ready platform that benefits both passengers and airlines.”
The SkyView platform is hardware-agnostic and can offer a compelling IFE experience whether an airline is connected or offline. It is certified by all major Hollywood studios and supported by AeroHub’s own Motion Pictures of America-certified lab facility. Its advanced content management system helps airlines to organize, schedule, and personalize content.
AeroPlay Entertainment will be showcasing SkyView’s capabilities, including AirShop and Flight360, at APEX Global EXPO in Long Beach, California from 9-11 September, 2025 at booth 1305.
