ASP Shehrbano Naqvi Selected for Prestigious International Fellowship

ASP Syeda Shehrbano Naqvi has made history by being chosen for the Asia Society’s 21 Next Generation Fellowship—the first female police officer from Pakistan to receive this honour.

Her selection, part of the 2025 cohort, reflects her dedicated work in safeguarding vulnerable communities and driving systemic reforms within law enforcement.

Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar remarked that this recognition showcases the growing global acknowledgment of the excellence exhibited by Punjab Police officers.

The Asia 21 Next Generation Summit is scheduled for December 5–7, 2025, in the Philippines, where 30 distinguished individuals from 27 countries will convene to exchange ideas for addressing complex social challenges.

ASP Naqvi garnered national attention in 2023 when she bravely intervened to rescue a woman from a violent mob in Lahore’s Ichhra Market.

Her achievement adds to a notable series of international accolades awarded to Pakistani women officers in recent years.

In March 2025, Anum Khan Muhammad Sher of Sargodha earned the Excellence in Criminal Investigation Award at Dubai’s World Police Summit for her role in solving two high-profile murder cases.

In October 2024, SP Beenish Fatima of Rawalpindi was honored with the IACP 40 Under 40 Award by the International Association of Chiefs of Police in Boston for her exemplary leadership.
