Katherine LaNasa was over the moon while winning the 2025 Emmy for best supporting drama actress.
Wednesday stars Jenna Ortega and Catherine Zeta-Jones presented the award to The Pitt star, who earned her first Emmy from her first nom for her role as nurse Dana Evans in the HBO Max medical drama.
“Oh, I am so proud and honored to receive this award from the Academy,” LaNasa said while accepting the honor. “My whole career I wanted to work for John Wells, and he elevates everything in his wake. John, I’m so much better when you’re around, mostly because I don’t want to get fired. Thank you, Scott Gemmill, the writers and all the nurses that inspired Dana, Noah Wyle, oh my God!”
She closed out her acceptance speech by thanking her family. “And lastly, my children, for making me real and my beautiful husband, Grant Show, for helping me always with everything. Ahh!”
LaNasa was in the running for the title against Patricia Arquette (Severance), Carrie Coon (The White Lotus), Julianne Nicholson (Paradise), Parker Posey (The White Lotus), Natasha Rothwell (The White Lotus) and Aimee Lou Wood (The White Lotus).
Of the six nominees, LaNasa and White Lotus’ Wood were nominated for their first Emmys. Plus, half of the best supporting drama actress contenders all stemmed from the White-created series.
The 77th Emmy Awards aired live from the Peacock Theater at L.A. Live in Los Angeles on Sunday on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. Nate Bargatze served as the night’s host. One weekend earlier, the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys handed out dozens of awards to mostly below-the-line categories.
