Defending world and Olympic champions Karsten Warholm and Rai Benjamin eased into the men’s 400m hurdles semi-finals at the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025 on Monday (15 September).
Warholm, the 2025 world leader, qualified from Heat 3 after coasting to a 48.56. Benjamin, who beat Warholm for gold at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, progressed by winning the fourth heat in 48.15.
Qatari Abderrahman Samba topped the heats in 48.03.
The top four from each of the five heats plus the four fastest times went through.
