Karachi doctor goes missing after alleged suicide attempt in nullah

A female doctor went missing after allegedly jumping into a nullah in Karachi’s Scout Colony in an apparent suicide attempt, police said on Monday.

The incident occurred late Sunday night within the jurisdiction of Mubina Town Police Station. The missing woman was identified as Dr. Mishal, with eyewitnesses reporting the incident to authorities.

According to initial investigations, Dr. Mishal was reportedly distressed due to domestic issues. Police said she had a dispute with her husband, who allegedly planned to contract a second marriage.

Rescue teams have launched a search operation, but her body has not yet been found.

Family members have claimed that her husband, Hasnain, often subjected her to physical abuse. Police confirmed that he has gone missing since the incident, adding that further legal action will be initiated once the body is recovered.

Dr. Mishal hailed from Gilgit-Baltistan and had been residing in Karachi with her husband for the past two years.
